intercooler damage.....

Default intercooler damage.....

this is what my intercooler looks like,most of the fins damaged and bent

will this cause overheating and problems?

and how can I rectify this cheaply?
anyone have a spare for sale?

Man that's fooked.

I'd get a second hand one, or possibly get the core refurbished, but for the price you'd be better going to a breakers.

To be fair that must be nearly 20 years old, so it's done well. Definitely time for a replacement though.

Do you drive flat out everywhere lol?
I thought bent fins was a sign of high speed use?

Wow. That has been murded. I cant see the air getin between the fins easily and thus causing higher inlet temps.

u can pick up a brand new fmic and pipe work for less than £200 posted.

More likely that the intercooler has had tools placed on it when work has been carried out in the engine bay.

Either way, it's done well for 2 decades.

You can fix that with a toothpick and some patience...
Actually, you're probably better off getting a new one!

Yes seen these on fleabay do the front mounts offer better cooling?

A front mount will be alot more efficiant. But u will prob have a bit more lag.

Mine come with a FMIC so i dont know the actual lag difference.
