Default Boost Gauge Fitting

Just a quick one!
Got my boost gauge ready to fit bought some blue silicone vac piping and a t piece, so on previous cars I've owned I have just spliced into the top vac pipe on the recirc d/v is this correct for Imprezas as well.
Or is there a better place for better readings, on a Bug!
Thanks
