Default 94 wrx block question

my engine is due to be rebuilt soon, the car had head gasket failure. the heads had 3thou and 4thou skimmed off so nice and flat.

the engine is stripped down now my engine guy has said- is it worth getting the block faces checked?? the head gaskets are uprated thicker ones.

the one side of block has wear marks so im having another good half mated to my original right side.

cheers.

makes sense to get them checked while its apart to ensure a good seal, you would feel pretty stupid if it fails when its put together due to corner cutting.

are you having the block acid cleaned aswell?

If your going to use 2 different case halves they will require line honing of the main bearing tunnel, & always get the block top faces skimmed.
