Default How firm should the top rad hose be after mixed driving?

Hi Guys.

Just a quick question.

After a bit of mixed driving around town and then hard driving on motorway etc how firm should the top radiator hose be?

I'm assuming there should be pressure in it but should it be solid or easy to compress?

Thanks.

Iirc it should be relatively easy to squeeze, not solid at all as that could mean HG failure.
