Default turbo 2000 tuning

Well im looking to get into a subaru seat again right after Newyear and since ill wont have a big budget ive decided to maybe go for a cheap turbo 2000.

I need some advice first though with regards to tuning (fitting STI parts if possible).

A. Will GC8 STI 440's fit the UK engine & also will a VF series turbo fit (vf28 possibly), as you can see my plan was to get a VF turbo & the sti injectors along with the sti boost sensor etc etc to run the higher boost. That along with some mapping obviously. But if this isnt possible then I imagine ill have to just get a Classic WRX instead as a base car.

B. What sort of power etc can the UK engine handle before things start to go wrong???

I regret selling my old classic everyday and cannot afford to spend that sort of cash again on a well sorted car so i guess im chasing that power hit again that i got from the STI lol, but i know it wont be the same obviously.

Buy a phase 2 uk classic, 99/00. They come will the yellow 440s standard, also have the 4pots front breaks, sti mid spolier, and a nicer Interior. Yes a vf28 is a direct fit, but also is a vf34/vf35, power wise I wouldn't suggest aiming above 320bhp.

Cheers mate, i wouldnt want that sort of power on standard internals anyway , as long as its standard sti power id be happy lol.

My last classic was 337bhp on a vf28 & i was happy with the way it went but i know that power is not ideal in a UK 2000.

I didnt realise the 2000 came with 440's

Also what are the pros & cons of a TD05 and a VF28 turbo. Is there any significant difference between the 2??
