Default Fitted ppp package to 2001 wrx

Just fitted all prodrive parts to my 2001 wrx

Ppp ecu
Genuine prodrive y-pipe
3rd cat delete
0.8mm restrictor pill. (this size worked perfect for me. But some people say 1mm??)

For anyone wanting to do this i would say go for it cost me under £200 and its made a world of diffrence

it now boost to between 18-20psi and the performance is amazing now feels a lot quicker than standard wrx and sound fantastic

Performance bargain!!

Boost sounds wrong. Standard newage WRX see MAX boost of 13.6psi, WRX PPP MAX is 14.7psi.

Where did you find those figures - do you have a link? I have a blobeye WRX PPP (unmodified other than PPP) and it's boosts to 18-19psi....

I actually think I found them on here when I first researched buying my blob wrx PPP.

And after logging with romraider they're pretty close.

I've been searching around and 18-19 psi or 1.2-1.3 bar seems to be about standard for a PPP upgrade..

1.4 bar is high for PPP, I don't remember mine seeing more than 1.1 on a good day tbh ?

I have been reading that. 1.3 bar 18- 19psi is correct for a newage wrx ppp.

Can any body with wrx ppp post up what boost they run... Or someone know for sure what it should be. To clear this up..

This is from a romraider logging session a while back on my 2004 WRX PPP, max on that session was 16.4.

+1on this. I have a custom map on my 05 blob by racedynamix and max boost is set a 1.3 bar or 18psi. Being a custom map it can be safely turned up a bit unlike a production map.

So why are so many newage wrx ppp drivers claiming 18-19psi boost. Surely all these can not be wrong??

Prodrive claim 35-40bhp increase in power. Surely This could not be made by an increase of just 1psi?? Could it??

Prodrive where very optimistic with their claims, see if you can find a PPP actually running 261bhp, I think you'll find most around 250bhp.

BHP isn't all about boost.

I was a lucky one. My std Wrx without ppp was checked on a dyno at 260bhp running at 0.9 bar before mapping. Not bad for an untouched blob

Yep there are the rare exceptions. You're also running 0.9 bar which is about 13psi, so as we've mentioned that is about right boost, 18-20psi is way off.

My old wrx bug was also boosting to max 1.3 bar after PPP. I don't think it is anything wrong with yours. Enjoy it!

And since you used romraider, you can always check for detaonation, if there are no or few and small corrections - I'd think all is good

If you read the post you'd find he hasn't used romraider.

Wait, I just noticed you said standard non PPP blob at 260bhp!

Really? That sounds like a very optimistic dyno, 40bhp up on standard with no mods.

Did you read the post above, his boost level? 0.9 bar, which is 13psi!

Maci post above say his wrx with ppp was running 1.3bar as do many other owners of wrx ppp. So im happy with this...

Makes sense to me. why would you need an uprated prodrive y-pipe to handle more boost if they only added 1psi over standard?

The PPP pack was more free flowing with a very safe moderate map.

They didn't just updated the y-pipe to because of more boost, it's more free flowing.

Anything over 16psi on the stock td04 will not be efficient, the turbo will just be heating up, so you're just blowing hot air in and risking turbo/engine damage.

So scoobynoob79 can you explain why nearly all newage wrx ppp owners are boosting 18-19psi?? How do you know yours was not underboosting. As more thread saying 18-19 is correct.

When I first researched buying my blob I did so for about 2 months, on here, wrxtuners and nasioc, there are more than enough posts stating those values are correct.

There are 3 people in this thread alone stating those values, are we all under boosting?

Or more importantly, are you over boosting?

At the end of the day mate, it's your car and will be your money if it goes pop.

Like I said, I'd be getting in a RR to make sure.
