CLASSIC FACELIFT INTERIOR QUESTION...???
Is the rear demister's little rear screen symbol supposed to illuminate (like the hazard light's one next to it) when you have your lights on? (I know the orange light comes on when the switch is in the on position).
As can be seen, mine doesn't:-

Yes.
You can get the little bulb, a 12V wire ended type, from Maplins for about £1.49 (or a pack of Eight Ace!!!) http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/12v-096w-w...ent-type-wq13p
You might come across them on ebay too. If you don't have a Maplins nearby.
Then, remove the swtich** and dismantle it over a sheet or white paper etc on the dining table. Be careful not to lose any springs.
Once it's open you will see the bulb: it has it's wire ends simply wrapped around and through a holder. Unwind and remove the old, rep[lace with new, wind as before and snip off any extra wire.
** Sometimes the switch will prise out. If not, remove the upper oddment tray lid, by undoing the two screws at the rear of the lid, then remove the two screws under covers holding the base in place.
Wrap a cloth etc round the catch mechanism for extra purchase and pull HARD towards you.
This will give access to release the switches.

Wow, what a comprehensive answer! Thanks
I'm a bit wary of yanking that cubby; they're so easy to fracture.
Are there any top tips for trying to prise the switch out WITHOUT dismantling the cubby/lid etc.?

How much for, say, four or five, or whatever?
Also, do they HAVE to be 80mA/0.96W? Or will a lesser value one work just as well e.g. like, say, a 70mA/0.84W - albeit sightly dimmer? Obviously in white.
What are yours rated at, Mick?

I've probably still got it, but, I'm not trawling through 400+ PM's to find it.
Pop it over to me, and I'll try and get them posted tomorrow.

Thought I'd add to my original thread...
Now I think the bloody illumination on the hazard light switch has failed! (I'll have to check in the dark, later on).
I take it, it also uses a tiny 'wheat grain' style bulb (a la the rear demister switch)?
Also, aside from any backlighting in the off position, when pushed in does the hazard light switch's large red rectangle flash in time with the hazards? (I can't remember, and mine doesn't)......
