Default Exhaust question

Hi,

I've got a 55 wrx hawkeye, I'm looking to get a k&n panel filter, decat and Ninja II exhaust.

Do I need to get a decat downpipe (do they even have cats on the hawks?) and would I need to get it mapped as soon as having it all fitted or could it wait a couple of weeks till I manage to go and get it done?

Thanks,
Chris.

If you go full exhaust (especially downpipe from turbo) you will need a map, car can be driven but would stay off boost.

There are lots to choose from, im a fan of the quieter ones, currently have the cobra trackday sys cat back on my blob wrx thats lovely but still can hear the rumble a bit too much for my licking,
Prodrive is a good mix of everything especially coupled with some hayward and scott mid pipes and downpipes etc

To clarify on the blobeye, im currently cat back so no need to remap etc, you can take out the first cat and will still be ok this is with a decat pipe, if you then go downpipe decat then this is when you need the map and would benefit best gains, it gets complicated as that would be a 4 part system however a lot of makes do it in 3 parts back box, mid scetion (to cat back point) then Decat downpie one piece
Hope that explains it a bit better
