Default EJ20 Head Gaskets

I know you can get various manufacturers ones, but what sizes do the standard gaskets come in and what are their part numbers?

My 1995 EJ20 will have a 1.6mm standard gasket, but as the gasket has gone I may need the heads skimmed. Assuming there is material taken off, I will need an appropriately thicker gasket.

Does anyone have the sizes that Subaru offer as standard, or will I have to just get another 1.6mm gasket, as thats the largest they do, and have a marginally higher compression ratio??

I'm hoping that Subaru did do a small variety of gaskets larger than 1.6mm, but to date I am yet to find one.

As above.
A light skim to the heads to correct any distorsion wont increase the CR that much to give you any problems provided they havent been skimmed before.

Then I'm faced with the choice of new heads, or having some copper ones made up, or in a bodge it and scarper sense 2 gaskets :S

But tbh the 1.6 should be fine, but as long as too much hasn't gotta come off.

My hope is that its a pure gasket failure, so will not require a skim, but time will tell.

I'd check the faces with an engineers straight edge & only skim if they are out. If you do skim them a remap will sort out a slight change in CR, but unless you have an after Market ECU or daughter board then that's an additional expense.
