As the topic title says: what engines are a straight fit for a v3 STI? My engine went, and I was planning on selling the car, so it's not financially viable to build an engine.
Since I have to let a shop carry out the work, I want to minimize it as much as possible, so what engines are a straight swap, so I won't have wiring issues?

Also, could I, for example, use a UK turbo engine + ECU (if that would fit anyway!) with my (stock) turbo without the need for a remap?

If someone has anything laying around, or has other suggestions, do tell

What damage is there to your existing engine? As far as a direct swap is concerned, I think your stuck with an identical replacement, unless you want extra spannering to be involved...

You can't just add a sti turbo to a uk engine without map,

I'm afraid the bottom end has gone.
It stalled on a slow turn after a bit of hard driving, threw out cooling liquid (through the expansion bottle), wouldn't start for 15-20 minutes, temp gauge was at 75% when I checked after a few minutes of standing there, and (started? can't remember) making a ticking sound on the (very slow) way home.
Didn't go in boost, but I'm pretty sure it lost power too.

I thought V4 was a fit, as the cams are only slightly different?
And how about a full UK engine (inclu turbo, injectors and ecu)? I am mainly concerned about the wiring loom, not sure what fits what.
