Default Fmic problems??

Ok ive just put a fmic on to my 2000 turbo2000, install went fine altho it did take me all weekend :-) but now when i rev my car then stop it drops to about 200 revs then to 1200rpm then idles normally at 800-900rpm.
Also i was running a hks bov on my standard tmic, now it sounds completely different?
My car was remapped previous to the fmic, will a fresh map be required?

yes it will sound different to before, did you change filter/induction set up as well? car will require a map tweak to run right though regardless.
