Default Help non starting Subaru

Help don't want to sound dull but I have bought an 02 bugeye WRX with a blown engine. Had an old EJ20 block, used the heads of the blown motor which was good plus inlet manifold and all accessories. Car turns over but will not fire up. Thinking it may be the immobilisers, no idea where to locate this, any help appreciated or any ideas what the problem may be.

id check basics first. Is there a spark? Is yhe fuel pump priming? Is fuel being delivered ? Crank sensor connected. When you say it turns over, does it try to fire or just turn over?

Do you get a strong smell of petrol after you have been cranking it if you do that can be ruled out i would check for a spark then

There's no need to bypass the immobiliser just from an engine swap. As long as you still have the original keys and haven't swapped ecus etc.

If u used a early model motor, check the crank pully. The newage have more teeth on. Which gives the ecu the wrong signal. The correct one for your age of vehicle should have approx 28 teeth the wrong one will have 5
