Default Forester gearbox conversion???

Hi all, my mate has an auto Forester that he wants to change to a manual, afaik it's a JDM STI Fozzy (not newer shape).

What would he need to do to swap to a manual??
Is it just the box, pedals, diff?? Or is he needing to change the wiring too??

Or is it such a pig of a job that he's better off just getting a manual one??

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

So being picky, what about the wiring for the box?? Reverse switch, and the trim inside??
would the manual box need its cradle, and then the manual wiring just clip in instead of the auto??
Anyone got an idiot proof guide as to what parts are needed??

At a guess I'd say

Gearbox
Front and rear diffs
dash panel clocks
Gear stick surround
Clutch pedal and associated hydraulic gubbings
ECU
Bits of wiring loom

Lots of work, lot of money. Flog it to someone who wants an auto and buy a new one

Assuming he can get a manual Forester or Impreza, would it be a straight swap parts wise??

Or is it too much of a PITA??
