Default Boost hose under intercooler

Hi all!
I have a 2005 impreza sti uk. I was looking under the bonnet and saw the boost hose that goes to the turbo under the intercooler sort of has a metal pertrusion. I have taken a photo bit canny upload at the minute. But I was just wondering if it is normal for this to be there?
Any help is great fully recieved.
Thanks
Kev

if its the bit right on the bend it could be what you use to help lever the pipe back onto the turbo.

Yes mate it's the but right on the bend, it seems to be poking out of the hose, is that ok? Or has it split the hose?
Thanks for the fast reply, very much appreciated.

well there is a tab on the bend for helping lever it back on the turbo, if it was a split you would hear it and be down on boost.

Aye it's for leverage when refitting the TMIC, when you come to do it - it's existence will all make sense!
