Default RUST PROBLEM STI IMPORT

this is my first Scooby so I am In need of some advice, I recently found a lot of rust behind the back lights of my Subaru impreza sti imported into uk in 2010 which I purchased in sep 2012.don't no how to go about fixing it.do I replace the panel or weld it up started cutting the rust out but there is a lot of it will put some pics up of the area.

So wots next anyone, there's no rot any were else on the car apart from the small holes lol that I started to cut out, the body is mint every were else.

I'm pretty confident that I would be able to sort that out in a way you wouldn't really notice the repair.
So I'm sure if you could find a good welder/ fabricator over where you are with the right tools then it could be done.

Your braver than me mate would it be worth cutting a back panel out of a scrapper and then getting that welded in save all the fabricating etc

I have been looking in to buying a new panel from jap performance parts but its £400+vat will be going to Birmingham next mouth and will be looking at car breakers and scarp yards , do's any one know a good Subaru breaker in Birmingham

Just to add, from what I can see I could sort that out within around 4-5 hrs max, then you would need to get the paint sorted.
If you don't replace all the panels with holes you still have plating to do. If you replace all the panels needed it will take a lot longer and then you need to have the rear of the car painted but it all depends on what some feels more comfortable doing really. Speaking from years experience I know what I would be doing.

If you lived local to me then I would have sorted it out for you, no problem

Be nice to see, good luck with which way you decide to do it As said in a previous post, strange place for it to rust and the first one I've seen to go there
