i have just got some v3 sti heads and they are in bits anyone no where the cam caps go ie in which order do they go in and what head left or right

 

They usually have an 'E' for exhaust or 'I' for inlet embossed on the cam caps and an arrow which is supposed to point towards the front (cam pulley end !) as far as I can remember ?

I don't think they have any markings as to which is for the left or right hand head though.

There are a lot of people on here who know far more than me so I prepare to stand corrected !

 

As TheVoices put above, cam caps are marked 2I,4I,2E,4E for the Left hand head and the arrow faces the front of the engine.
There is also a code stamped on the head ( top right on the left hand head cam cap side ) which matches the code on the caps as they are lined bored from the factory.
