exhaust very smokey
Help please, my 98 impreza sport ( non turbo ) is belching out white smoke I replaced the power steering pump as it developed a leak and some fluid leaked down into the spark plug , I removed the spark plug and cleaned it Could it be that some steering fluid has leaked into the engine and this is what is causing the smoke, I can`t drive the car as the smoke is really belching out, If I get a hold of the guy who sold me this I am going to ram it up his ***, I have spend £0000s on this car and do not want to spend another penny if possible.
New clutch
New alternator
New power stering pump
New wheel bearings
Exhaust mid section
Timing belt kit
knock, ecu temp, maf and water sensors
The list is endless.

Sorry to say this but the list may get bigger.
White smoke is usually headgasket failure. Are you loosing any coolant?
Get it to a garage and ask for a sniff test. Headgasket reubuild is usually around 750+Vat i'm affraid.

Thanks mate for the quick reply, I had my suspicions that was what it was, I will have it check out if it is head gasket, it is going to the scrappy.
