No spark
Hi,
I have a 1999 uk turbo 2000.
I removed the inlet manifold due to a blown gasket.
Have replaced and put everything back together and triple checked all connections.
Went to start the car and it cranks but will not fire.
The starter motor is turning and fuel is priming ok on ignition.
I removed an ht lead from the plug, put a plug in and there is no spark.
Crank position sensor is connected and all correct.
Today I have re-checked all connections and tried a jump lead from the battery negative to various grounds.
I'm wondering if its a bad earth but just don't know and I am now stumped.
If anyone has any ideas that could point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated )

Hey, thank you for the reply!
Funnily enough yeah... Im not gonna lie, It took me a few hours to remember about the plugs under the steering column. Googled the fault codes;
Fault code 13 - cam shaft position sensor
Bearing in mind I'm a security systems engineer and not a mechanic!
After stripping it down, fitting a hybrid turbo and down pipe and inlet gaskets and putting it all together, I'd put the cam position sensor and closest fuel injector plug on the wrong way round. Stop laughing hehe!
It didn't help that 3 of the injector plugs were black and the 4th was white.
Cam sensor plug was black and was the same connector!
Anyway, I swapped them over and it fired up first time!
Got rid of the air lock and good times!
It's just a shame that the reason the inlet gasket had blown was because none of the bolts were done up on the right hand side.
They were loose enough to undo with fingers :-(
I'd had the head gasket done and cam belt kit in November 2012.
Obviously that was 2k well spent!

I would back probe your Cam and crank sensors and measure voltage. They both produce a sine wave so need to have voltmeter set to measure AC voltage. Sensor wire on crank is the forward one, on Cam it is the left one (from car perspective). Should get circa 3.4 v on crank and 2.2 v on Cam whilst cranking.
If Cam and crank are good then I would look at input signals into ignitor and output voltages (bear in mind the output from ignitor to coil is ground side switched).
Also is there any anti theft systems on the car that might be misbehaving?
