Uk avcs v jdm avcs
What would be the advantage of running newage jdm avcs heads over the uk sti version on a built 2.1? An how much would you be expected to pay for a set? Thanks
Main advantage is higher rev limit, better cams, big port heads and usually they're mostly used on high power builds(we will be running JDM Spec C V8 Heads on our 2.35)
Price depends on more factors, but for good set without the cracks you should be looking at £400-£500.If you will be buying one set, just check for cracks around the spark plugs(which pretty common on 2.0L),if you are not sure speak to your builder if they're OK,second bit check if they're complete(have cam caps etc,cam caps are specific made for every heads, they're not changeable),have look on spits around deck faces and lastly speak with yours tuner/engine builder and go with his recommendations, this can save you lots of money and hassle
Good luck with finding good set of the heads,we are went via 4 pairs of the JDM big port heads and at the end we are bought set from Jap Performance Parts
