Default Anyone know much about exhaust insides?

Hi
I know i dont come on here very often had my scooby for 9 years now and got it how i want it?
Around Xmas time i noticed the car exhaust tone had changed when i accelerated quick, but the subaru mechanic couldn't hear anything to say what was wrong. Just recently it makes it more often, the sound is a raspy sound like if you blow through two bits of paper.
Today i looked up my exhaust and saw what looks like to be loads of white fibre/cloth. Dose anyone know what part of the exhaust its come from?
Car has standard front pipes of engine think theres a cat in here, the stainless centre pipe has one box/muffler but no cat , then it has a scoobysport stainless backbox.

Hope fully the pictures work i took looking up the exhaust, its awhile since i uploaded any.
Thank you

had a feeling it was something do do with the exhaust insides , hopefully they have come from the back box then i know what i need to replace. Just wondered if it was possible they had come from another section and blown through to the back and got caught up.

Cats on some cars can blow and the only way out for some bits is the exit pipe. Does it/did it smell of rotten eggs that you noticed?

I'm no expert but that doesn't look right, I would be ripping that out because it will be causing a massive restriction. As above its the packing from the back box, normally this sits around the outer of the pipe not collapsed like yours.

Just pull it out it will be fine

Last year I noticed something hanging out the Forester, gave it a little pull and this came out....

A few days later a bit more came out, 6 months on and it was fine, no change in sound

Thanks for the replies, i poked the exhaust around tonight then gave car a run, eventually about 50% of insides have blown out. Car sounds alot better now.
