removing powersteering cooler pipe

just wondering if anyone has removed the PS cooler that sits at the top of the radiator on a classic????

some pre 96 cars have these some dont. my 93 wrx has been fine without one.

neither of my classics had one. subaru started fitting them in 95 i think.
