Default boost solenoid

Got a 95 wrx import. When i bought the car it had a cheap pants air filter. I have changed the filter. The problem is..there is a pipe from the boost solenoid that went to a nipple on the base of the big air filter, near where it connects to the intake pipeing. My new filter doesng have a nipple for this and on researching i read its meant to be posg maf, is this correct? The car doesnt have a nipple on the intake post maf for this pipe or if its meant i cant find it! What is the issues if its left disconnected? What does it do? Shall i make it fit post maf?

if your talking about the bottom pipe on the solenoid its fine!

it should connect back onto the air intake somewhere but if it has been plugged on the intake its perfectly fine that the solenoid vents to atmosphere.
