The first part I can tell you: it clears any fault codes and puts it back to whatever it's base setting was.

However, the second, I'm unsure of, but I'm 90% certain it won't affect the map, that is now the "base setting".

I stand to be corrected....

 

Cheers. It makes sense that the reprogramme map will be the new base map. I'll wait to see if I can get a better offer than 90% certain before going ahead and doing it. I'm trying to clear an irritating immobilser issue - the red light keeps flashing although the car is otherwise fine.

 

As above. A reset will not wipe a remapped ecu. i.e. The map. It will just wipe any learning the ecu has done. This is assuming its an o/e ecu

 

Yes, it's an Ecutek Y7. A replacement for my oe Ecutek Ecu that had a licenced remap.
