Default Split block halves problems!

Hey there, i tried to take appart my EJ257 block halves today but i couldent manage to get the bolts out (none of them?)

My normal sockets dident fit as the bolts in the block is with 12 "teeths"
so i welded a Socket spanner (movable one)

One of these

So i welded it so it became totaly solid and unmoveable in the ends.
and i welded a socket in the other end of it so i could fit one of these

I guess they are aswell called socket spanner :P

But i couldent manage to get the bolts to move at all so i tried the impact wrench but it couldent get the bolts to move eihter?

am i doing anything wrong?

Sorry for my bad english

Just use a 12mm 12sided socket with an extension and breaker bar, thats how ive always done them without any trouble

they are/can be very tight, as above a proper 12sided socket and decent breaker bar is a must normally

I use a 3/4" 12mm 12 sided socket and extension but 2 of the bolts you might need to use 1/2" 12mm 12 sided socket dependin on brand of tools.
Cheap tools will only cause heart ache

Yup get a proper socket and extension bar and cheater/power bar.

And then put some muscle into it.
