Idle problem (sti 4 engine / uk maf), ecu questions and STi4 maf wiring
hi everyone. I am just looking for some help
few months ago, i've bought an STi v.4 block and i've added my uk98 peripherals and so far i've been running the EUDM Ecu and td04 with EUDM / ukturbo MAF (purple label)
but the last months, i've decided to upgrade everything to STi v4.
so i've fitted an IHI Turbo, 440cc injectors, samco turbo inlet, STi v4 ECU.
the only thing i didnt change was the Maf (i still get the UK Turbo Purple maf)
so now my questions :
- do i need to change the maf for an STi v4 MAF with airbox?
the idle goes a big wrong and moves permanently from 600 to 900 rpm, is it a maf related problem?
and the last one, is there anyone who could help me with the wiring of the STi MAF as the plug isnt the same as the UKTurbo loom?
can i cut the UK Plug and wire the STi 4 plug to fit? and if so, can someone give me some help with the wiring (diagram?)
thanks a lot!
sorry for my english as it is not really good!

The maf for the Sti V4 is orange and is in a bigger diameter tube than the uk maf. If you plan to run the STi v4 ecu (75) then you will need the orange maf for it to run correctly. I changed the engine on my 98uk turbo wagon which had the purple label maf, the plug for this and the orange maf was the same and plugged in. What ecu did you use previous? what code on the box?

i think you mean the 9s is in yours which is the same as the 8si had in my 98 turbo. The plugs on the orange maf is the same as the plug on the purple maf. the plug on the orange maf is rectangular with rounded corners and 3 pins, same as the purple one i removed. The air box is slightly different as is the intake(maf to turbo) pipe. its a bigger diameter.
