maybe dash prob! help please
So ive had a couple of posts on this...
Wrx is idling high and gone through all the usual stuff...iacv clean/replaced, same with tps, same with maf, n no vac leaks.
Car rins rich too.
I cant seem to sort this n i just spoke to some people. One guy who i got the new iacv off, hes a mechanic n only drives scoobies. He along with others say it purrs right so the rev counter might be off, maybe a bent spring or whatever it is when the loclwood dials got put in.
Another guy also says the rev counter might be wrong but it could be a faulty unit. This guy says that maybe the unit makes my car think its reving higher than what it is causing inaccurate reading and running rich. Could this happen? And if so could it be the speedo converter (car is import). If it has one, i need to look but im 99% sure my speedo is right. Also car only has 110 on clock n only does 110 so prob no delimiter. Again im goin to look at that!
So the main question...can a faulty rev counter cause running rich as well as looking like high idle
And..
Could the unit be replaced with a uk dash or do i need an import dash with a speed converter on it?

Yeh thats true but he doesnt have his garage anymore or alot of his gear. He is gettin on a little now n just does stuff from home to get by else he would of done it for me.
Also normally i would go to a specialist or even just a garage with this problem but money is tight lately due to unforseable circumstances. I cant really afford my car anymore n i am desperate to get this car sorted As cheap as pos for the mot. I really dont want to sell after because i love scoobies but i might have to. Hopefully not! Maybe if i get the richness sorted then fuel costs might not be sucb a problem
