Japspeed induction kit question?
I've just bought a secondhand unit from a fellow member and need to know how you guys have them fitted, ( pics would be nice ).
I've removed the standard air box and fittings and have offered up the new cone type kit, but something is bothering me about how it gets the air feed, surely with the standard air box the air feed is from the outside and hopefully a lot cooler than within the engine dept. but the cone sits in the engine bay and there fore is going to be subject to much higher temps.
So unless I also fit an insulation box around the cone to protect it from the hot air it's not really going to of much benefit.
I suppose I could leave the initial intake part of the standard set up in place, that way the air would still be fed from the front of the car directly to where the cone is fitted.

Is it the one that's supplied with their front mount IC kit? If so, the inside diameter of the section where the MAF goes is larger than standard. You must get the MAF re-scaled by a mapper as the MAF will be fooled into thinking there's less air flow than there really is! Compare the inside dia with the existing MAF housing.

It's just the aluminium pipe and cone filter with the silicone hose to attach it, I've fitted it, but the maf certainly didn't like it, idling was all over the place, standard one back on now.
