Question Fitting sti rear lights... Help

Hello
Ok before this comes across as a doh !!! moment... really easy to swap but what I am struggling with is the water proof seal appears to be some black sticky stuff but no idea what it is does anyone have any recommendations to stop water getting in my lights ? One person suggested mastik not sure i spelt that right anyway it needs some kind of water proof seal so any advice ?!

Don't save on it, put at least 10mm thick layer.

As above, it's a non-setting mastic, often available cheap off ebay.
DO NOT use stuff like silicone, Tiger Seal and Sika Flex.

just out of interest why does it need this? I noticed mine have mastic or something holding them n too =/

LOL, It's not holding them in, it's sealing them against water ingress. Try removing it: you'll have a swimming pool in the boot soon enough: Subaru designed the classics so that all the water ran down over the rear lights

It has to be non setting so that it can't crack/split as it moves about, and so that the lights, spoiler etc can be removed if needed for replacement or repair after an accident etc.
