Default Simtek/ alkatek question

Hi all,

I'm doing a shake down of the track facelift impreza atm and have found the check engine light is flickering when on full throttle being driven hard, it's on Simtek/Alkatek management, is this the norm I should I get it looked at?

on the simtek the flickering check engine light is an indication of det or engine noise interpreted as det. With the alcatek upgrade the ecu should pull timing but would get it checked if it keeps happening.

Mine and my dads simtek are both set to change gear at high revs for the engine light. But it's a solid light and not flickering.
