I had a scoobysport d/p fitted recently (not by Scoobysport)
I was handed a sensor that I was told doesn't really need to be there - something to do with temperature.
Was told that if I got a warning light then I was to connect it up under the bonnet to cancel the warning light but it really was pretty much redundant.
The other sensor - the one that screws into the d/p is fitted fine.
Does anyone know what this is ??
Sorry for the vagueness.

the redundant one is the 'cat hot' sensor. If it gets too hot or (on some models)is disconnected then a warning light comes on the dash. The other sensor in the dp is your lambda sensor probably, this depends on the MY of car.

Erm don't know really, personally I'd reconnect it and tuck it out of harms way, because then the open connector isn't exposed to the elements and also if you ever decide to put the OE dp back on you know where the sensor is!
But at the end of the day if the light isn't on there isn't a problem with leaving it as it is.
