Default Factory radio removal

Hey guys, I feel really stupid asking this, I've been installing car radios on mine and my friends cars for years, but how do you get the factory head unit out. I had a quick look this morning, but it was dark couldn't see how it comes out. Does it just pop out or are there screws? Going to try and tackle it on my lunch break, so I thought I would check on here to save some time with messing around, I can just jump right into it.

They are bolted in with a cage, the cage screws to the radio and then its held in with a few 10mm bolts 3 down each side.

It's a pain in the ****!! If the new stereo has holes for the side mount on each side, then they are normally either too small or too big for the screws used on the standard stereo.

Why couldn't they just use a cage like everyone else??
