Hi everyone, I’m in need of some advice on my 01 WRX.

I’ve had this car now for close to 13 years, in which it has covered around 70.000 miles. The car was bought in Spain where it’s lived all its life. The first 3 years, was when I most drove it covering probably 50.000 miles, and from then on I have used it just a couple of times a year, and also its been stored in the garage at times for years, without any action.

Currently I want to get it back on the road, but before I do so, I want to sort an issue which the car has had for the last 20.000 miles. Which is that it feels terrible to drive.

It shakes, it wobbles, drives like it has done a million miles. Now before anyone starts to conclusions, it’s not the tires as these have been replaced and aligned. Also I fitted the car with H&R lowering springs when the car had just 10.000miles. But I doubt it’s either the springs or the shocks.

Also the car suffered for a long time from driving in an industrial estate which had more pot holes and bumps than the back streets of Baghdad.

So I believe it has to be the bushes.

The reason I ask for advice is because I have visited the Powerflex web site and the list of bushes can make anybody dizzy, and before I fork out £ 600 or all the parts and probably the equal amount on labor, I wanted to ask you guys what bushes are the most likely to be bad, So I can just pay for the ones I really need and not for the whole bunch.

I know you guys will probably think, just take it to a Subaru specialist, well unfortunately they don’t exist down here. So it’s down to me to find out what needs changing.

I really just need to know which bushes are a MUST change taking into account the mileage, and also the road conditions the cars has lived through.

As mentioned above, I believe the bushes on my 01 WRX must be worn out and would appreciate if someone could let me know which ones are most likely to in bad condition.

I’m sure somebody out there must have some knowledge on this topic.
