Head porting?
Is it worth giving my heads a bit of a porting while ive got my engine apart for a rebuild? I am doing a few other things, nothing overly special. Forged pistons, front mount, exhaust and most probarly remap. Thanks rob

I wasnt going to go mad just more of a smooth out. Just wondered how they responded to head work. And no im not spending a fortune on it just wanna make it a little more reliable with a bit more grunt.

I think your heads are similar to those on a new age wrx which will do 400+.
The higher power you're going for, the more your heads will hold you back, but if you're aiming under 400hp there's no point in porting or in fact doing anything head wise (assuming your heads are in good nick). I'd certainly spend money on a lot of other things before doing anything to the heads.
Sti heads would allow you to rev higher, though. As it happens I have a set of sti6 heads for sale, but they will probably not give you any gains in power.
