Default Oil temp guage problem

Alright chaps I fitted a set of guages a couple of months ago all been working fine till recently my oil temp guage has been behaving strangely normal driving it will be fine then it will just drop to zero when I put my foot down it goes back up again but acts a bit irratic up and down etc I've checked all the wiring all seems fine could it possibly be the sensor on its way out ??

Cheers
Craig

Have you looked at any connections? Possibly a loose one.

And it's earthing to the block? try touching a wire, bared at both ends, to sender outer metal parts and block.
