Default Top feed turbo to front feed conversion

Hello does any one no how to convert a td05 top feed turbo to fit my front feed set up originally a td04l thanks.

Take the turbo to a metal worker and basically cut the 90 degree bend off and put a stright one on with a flange to stop boost pipes coming off

you need a bit welded on for sure.

You should be able to cut the straight bit with a flange from the end of the bend and use that, so no extra metal required, but it definitely needs to be welded on.

Alternatively, you can buy the covers as well.. Ebay doesn't seem to have any at the moment (you need a standard 16g cover), and the closest I can find at present is a "big 16g" cover, which afaik will not work (I think the wheels are different).

I think Andy Forrest used to sell them, but not sure if he still does them.

Hello again right i now have my td05h turbo and was just wandering if i am just as well fitting the top feed inlet pipe and moving my maf over to save cutting the turbo will this work or is there disadvantages to the top feed setup? i am also considering turning my inlet mani round to shorten the fmic pipe.(My CAR HAD A FRONT FEED TD04L)

I looked at this, but you'd need new filter to turbo pipe, redo the dump valve return, reroute various other bits that connect pre turbo etc. The extra bend will not aid flow either.

Best bet is to modify the housing imo
