Default would a slightly blowing exhaust

My exhaust is slightly blowing , I havnt pin pointed it yet but it sounds like its from where it comes of the block ( sorry about no technical terms but im new to the scooby)...

would this give an 'oily' smell inside the car?

only happens occasionally , the car isnt using any oil....

or could it be a syptom of a rocker cover gasket???

if so how easy are these to do ( im pretty good on the tools and i have my own lock up so no getting wet on the drive)

cheers for any input

Exhaust could be blowing from a few places, up pipe gasket or the cone gasket in the downpipe, the oily smell would most likely be the rocker cover gasket, quite easy to do if handy with a spanner, not a great deal of room in there tho lol.

Hi !

They are the sort of problems that need hands on looking at.
We'd be putting it on a ramp and checking for a gasket leak and finding out where the blow is. A tube in your ear played around where you think the leak is works as well as anything!

Will only smell when it drips on the hot manifold, it will only be a small drip now and again, go under the car or put it on a ramp if you can and have a look at the gasket before stripping it.
