Default Problems after De cat

Hi all.

Im having problems with my my98 wrx. i have recently fitted a de cat to the 3" system that was already on and a couple of nights ago the cel came on for a short time then went off.
i didnt take much notice because i expected it to come on at sometime after the de cat anyway.

Only yesterday it started cutting power on full boost and spluttering then if i keep my boot in it then it goes like a rocket.

Im suspecting some kind of overboost problem. Maybe the boost solenoid.
im no mechanic/scooby guru so i would really appreciate any help.

it made 281bhp 3 weeks ago as a standard car so i know it was running well previous to the de cat.

Please help

Thanks for the replies. Yeah i guess it does need remapping. Its not something i can do this side of christmas. Do you suggest that i put the cat back on until i can get it mapped?
