Default Vf28 vs vf35

I currently have a tdo4 turbo fitted 2000turbo (w reg), I am looking for an upgrade before getting it mapped in the new year, I am aiming for 300bhp, I am not bothered about topend power, the car is a daily driver (country roads) so the least laggy turbo the better. I know both vf28 and vf35 can both hit the power I wanted, I know the 28 is older but am I right in thinking its quicker spool? Another option is vf34 and tdo5 turbos there are slower spooling?

i run a vf28 on my 2000 turbo as daily driven car and its brilliant, spools fast, and makes the power.. a friend of mine runs a td05 and that is quite laggy in comparison.

vf28 (standard on sti v5 and 6) is a lovely little turbo, mine starts to spool around 2500 and pulls hard all the way! (305 with panel, decat and conservative remap)

I can only comment on the vf35 as that's what mine runs standard, it's not overly laggy but dies off quite early about 6k rpm

TD05 - awesome midrange punch and keeps going till the red light comes on

A bit laggy, but certainly does not spoil an average drive; and after all if you are out for a thrash you're not using the lower end of the rev range anyway.

I just love the push in the in your back from hand of God after 3.5k

I have my V5 sti remapped on the vf28 great spooling turbo! Can't comment on the vf35 but going but what I've read there isn't a world in difference between them.... They can be bought cheaper than the vf35 and there surely is good units around
