Default Help Desperately Needed Please

My '95 jdm wrx keeps cutting out. It happens randomely i can drive 10 miles and have no problem then i can drive 10 yards and it does it. It coughs and splutters it will hunt on tick over and sometimes cuts out completely. Sometimes I can rev through it and other times I can switch the car off then re-start it and it's fine. The only thing that does seem to happen every time is the Fuel gauge drops to completely empty. The car definitely has fuel in it. Any sugestions or experience of this would be greatly appreciated.

Ah ok I've fitted a walbro so had that and both senders out again. I did wonder about the wiring but didn't think about the block. Cheers

Even if the block looks ok from outside. Seperate it and check the condition of conections inside

Try the fuel filter as well. It sounds like a fueling issue so best to check all the basics first mate

Fuel filter is only a year old and covered less than 3000 miles. I had considered that Allen but am thinking its unlikely.

Right I haven't had a chance to check the pump and sender connection yet. But I had the car booked in to remove the imobiliser. Since that was removed the fuel guage has been fine. However I have now got somewhere with the running issue.
If I drive the car from cold I have no issues what so ever, but if I turn the car off then go out in it again, I can drive maybe a mile when the car cuts out. If I put my foot flat on the floor the engine will come back. This problem continues for 10 minutes at most then after that its fine. However if it looses power and the car completely dies, so I have to restart by key the problem resurfaces again. This is driving mad, please has anyone had any issues like this as its driving me crazy.
I have no fault codes. The car has a z4 ecu fmic turbo back exhaust hks mushroom filter forge re-circ valve but car has not been mapped. Nothing was changed before this problem started, and all parts except the re-circ valve have been fitted over 6 months.
Any questions or suggestions please please throw at me as I'm pulling my hair out with this problem.

FMIC/induction/walbro not mapped. Theres prob a air/fuel ratio problem. Are you running standard 380s?

The car has always had a dv fitted. Believe it or not I struggled to get a standard re-circ, so got a forge one but the prob started b4 that was fitted. Is running standard injectors but as said the car was fine 4 6 months with all the pits fitted.
Richard if it was maf, would I not get a fault code in the ecu?

Often the ECU does not give a code for a faulty MAF & it is a very common failure causing poor running hunting & stalling.

No mate it started September time.
Also forgot to say the car lives in a garage and is only used evenings and weekends.
Thanks for the advice Richard.
