Ok so my windscreen is very creaky at first I thought it was coming from my A pillar but it seems that the screen itself is making a lot of noise.

Some say its because of the cold temperature but doing a quick google and I found different threads that claim the noise the screen is making is due to some kind of flex in the chassis.

Seems a bit of a controversial subject as to how much a strut brace actually does but theres a few people out there saying it will solve this creaking.

Your opinions please!

That is one of many links that claims the bar does solve windscreen creak.

Could be your windscreen is not installed properly...? It does form an integral part of the car body structure when properly installed. Ever driven a car without? It is really wobbly!

 

Yea I know its structural, it just seems like Im not alone after a google there were a few others with the same thing.

Having only just got the car I'm still learning what noises are normal lol, I'm still not sure about my turbo noise, when it spools it sounds a bit like a rattle snake!

 

That sounds weird!

 

My last Impreza, MY05 STi Type UK Blobeye's windscreen used to 'creak'.
Only happened when one of the front wheels where raising up a curb or incline & that was on the OE screen.
