sounds like a misfire, plug or coil or worse still if the cambelt was changed not fitted correctly and timing is out.

read the fault code although if the timing is slightly out it wont throw a code up i dont think

And for that very reason I choose not to let a garage near my car

Maybe give them a call first thing in the morning and give them the chance to sort it.

When u change oil in a Subaru you gotta take off crank sensor and turn it over till oil gets circulated and oil pressure up . Hear so many people complaining they got a ****ed engine after a oil change.

If there was nothing wrong with it before it went in, don't let them charge you for anything. It's something they've done, the co-incidence of something failing right at that time is far too remote!

If it's a local garage, did you tell them to pre-chrge the oil filter?
If not, this is worse than not disconnecting the crank sensor!!!

The filter is filled prior to changing on nearly every car.
The crank sensor disconnect is rubbish!
Ask any of the engine builders on here

We advise disconnection of the crank or cam angle sensor when spinning up after an oil filter change. The engine will not resist repeated start up without a primed system. It takes a while to cause harm, but it does do harm.

Your choice - I only advise.

All other proper Subaru specialists will tell you the same..............
