P1 engine in version 1 impreza
Need some help guys, I have a 94 impreza turbo and I've fitted a v5/6 sti/p1 engine into it, engine bolted in fine until I went to fit the original v1 inlet manifold and realised that the bolt holes are different from the later spec sti heads. So I've looked into fitting the sti inlet manifold but the throttle body and idle control valve are completely different, different connector plugs and location. Just wondering if anyone has done this and come up with a solution, or if its possible to do away with the idle control valve and remap the ecu to not have it?
Any help would be massively appreciated.
Thanks
Jason.

Yeah it's looking like that what I'm going to have to do which isn't a problem as that's my job but I don't have any wiring diagrams for the 2 engine harness's so I would be guessing a bit!!

The idle control valves should both be 3 pin, if so the wirings not to bad to sus out, but iirc the tps on the v5 and 6 is 4 pin where as the early cars were 3 pin and the early ecu doesn't have the corect pin outs to control the 4 pin tps etc.
By far the easiest option would be to re use your 94 heads so you can use the 94 inlet.
Or if you are insistent on using the later heads, you could fab something to fit the 94 inlet onto them. I've seen some with spacing plates to convert parallel stud pattern to offset. Or if you are apt at alloy welding you could do a cut and shut inlet manifold

Just had that thought about re welding the inlet bolt holes! Think I might look at doing that as that will be the easiest option I think!
Thanks guys
