Default Legacy 2.5 - Pinking/Knocking

Hi

I'm trying this forum to see if anyone can help me as the Subaru dealer has said they cannot find a problem...

I have a 2005 Legacy 2.5 auto, UK Spec, no mods, non-turbo.

it pinks when under light load, about 1500-2000rpm at approx 30mph, usually when going up a slight hill.

It often pinks for 2 or 3 seconds before the pinking stops, and it is more noticeable on hot days (I am unsure as to whether it does it more, or Iam more likely to notice it more as I am more likely to have the windows open...)

The subaru dealer had it for quite a few days and say they cannot find any issues, and couldn't get it to pink....

Was serviced recently and the guy said old plugs looked very clean and not worn.

Is it likely the knock sensor is at fault as it doesn't stop the pinking immediately it starts ??

I cannot seem to find an aftermarket supplier for the knock sensor for my particular vehicle, only for pre 2003 vehicles. Does anyone know f one, as I thought this would be a simple part to change myself.
