Default Engine & Electrics cut out on motorway?

Well got my Wagon back at last but had an odd problem on the way home from Triangle sprays in Cadnam. It didn’t seem to be behaving properly but thought it was just since I hadn’t driven it for a while then on the motorway it cut out at 80MPH in the fast lane just like the ignition had been turned off but managed to keep it rolling and coasted into Rownhams services before it lost momentum on the slope into the car park and thankfully the chaps from the Civic owners club where there who helped me push into a space. The engine kept tuning over but not starting and I had no electrics so checked all fuses and no problem there. Then after 20 minute I went to try the car again and it started but still no electrics then another 10 minutes later the windows started to work and all the electrics where back on?

RAC had a poke and prod and didn’t find anything so followed me home to Woolston but since then it has been running fine again without any issues?

Simon from Cadnam garage suggested it could be the immobiliser playing up or the ignition solenoid contact got damp from the car not being used for a few weeks.

Anyone heard of this happening before or have any ideas what could have caused it?

Battery terminals are good and tight.

Battery and starter motor earths must be ok as your starter still worked. Im not sure where your engine earths are but i believe there maybe one on the gearbox as well. I have heard of several classic subaru's suffering from bad earths and after market earthing kits being fitted that don't work so well.
