I've had my blob wagon for a couple of weeks now and last couple of days had a few decent runs.

It has the usual stage 1 mods - WR Sport rear box, resonated decat mid pipe, Walbro, Green panel filter & RaceDynamix remap.

I've had a few turbo cars now, but my last couple have been NA, so I'm enjoying the low down surge, but it does seem to be flatten out very quickly at the top end.

Am I likely to see much in the way of gains from an uppipe decat? Will it mainly be quicker spool?

Also, does decatting here increase the exhaust noise at all? I had been told that the Prodrive/WR boxes were some of the quietest, but I find mine with the resonated decat midpipe is plenty loud enough (mainly at low revs - quite boomy), so wouldn't really want to make it much louder, lol!! I must be getting old!

 

Hi mate - yeah the decat uppipe is worthwhile doing but it doesnt tend to give much extra top end power, def better spool up though.

A lot of people do the uppipe when they upgrade the turbo, this will def give the top end power increase

 

I was wondering the same thing, I have a subsru sti 2007 cat back exhaust and performance air filter, I got the car remapped at race dynamix, got 309 bhp on the rollers but want 340-350bhp , am I right in thinking that if I fit a prodrive sports cat , and walbro fuel pump I should see that figure? Would I also need a re tweek on the rolling road do you think ?
