I'd say with my limited knowledge of the classics that is a Version 3 Subaru Impreza WRX STI 5 door then, They didn't do a 5 door RA so it's a standard STI wagon in 406 silver

Only pre 96 wagon STI's had IC spray along with the RA's and STI saloons....Post 96, only RA's/Type R's, for classics that is.

The following list breaks down the code reading from left to right:

Series code: G=Impreza S=Forester B=Legacy
Body type: F=Wagon C=Sedan
Engine type: 8=2.0L Turbo
Year code: A=MY93 B=MY94 C=MY95/96 D=MY97 E=MY98 F=MY99 G=MY00
Number of doors: 2=2 door coupe 4=4 door saloon 5=5 door sports wagon
Model type: 8= WRX 7= Type RA E = STi D =STi Type R & RA
Transmission: D=5 Speed Manual AWD P=4 Speed Automatic AWD
Broken down, the model code of an MY 95 WRX STi Type RA would be GC8C47D.

G : Impreza
C : Sedan (saloon)
8 : 2.0 Turbo
C : MY95 - click here for MY info
4 : 4 doors
7 : Type RA - (Please note, the STi was modified from the production WRX, which would most likely explain the similarity in model codes - later STis & RAs has a designated letter & not a number)
D : 5 speed manual

Has your car been mapped? Make sure it has been mapped as it has a different turbo and decat exhaust.

Lift the carpet in the passenger footwell, you will see a plate with 2 or 3 small nuts on the ecu is behind this

ECU case has a sticker on it, jap import ecu will be like in the borrowed pic below.

Note that I don't know the code for the correct ecu for your car, it's just a picture I've borrowed.

Also worth noting, there's still no guarantee that what it says on the case is correct. You'd have to open it up.

Actually have a look at this thread.

https://www.scoobynet.com/general-te...-jegs-ecu.html

Also, try the search function, it's not too bad.
