Hi there

If you will go route just short block without the heads and re0using yours existing heads, you don't need different ECU

But if you want use AVCS heads on your WRX,in this case you will need use STi ECU or JDM WRX ECU,but wiring will be needed etc.,not sure if its worth, you will gain on the spool up time, but cost of involving in this, not sure, but you will see if its worth

Hi Andy

You will need wire the AVCS to ECU,plus be sure you have AVCS actuator. If you want use STi ECU on your WRX,STi ECU is different from WRX(there is few extras etc.) and plus if you want to use yours WRX TD04L on this engine and yours current WRX injectors 440cc,you will need straight away remap, because STi have VF35 and 550cc injectors

Thanks again is the AVACs harness separate from the main engine harness on the STI I have the whole engine so have the injectors, ecu , turbo, etc etc

So fingers crossed it shouldn't be to bad to swap over

Cheers andy
