quick Decat question

quick Decat question
hi guys
will replacing the last cat with a thru pipe cause the engine light to flash up?
when saying the last cat i mean the one after the down pipe.
am i correct in saying that i just need to replace the pipe that is connected to the back box to do the above?
also the car has a wrSports exhaust (subaru upgrade i believe) is this just a different back box or is it the whole piping up to the downpipe?
