Default which ecu chip?

Hi all, I know ecu chips are generally frowned apon these days but I can't afford a live map remap at the moment!

Can any1 recommend a ecu chip? Car will be running a fmic and decats, its only running 0.9 bar at the moment so I assume its standard
Cheers

I ran a polar performance chip for a couple of years without any issues which is about the only 'chip' that is ok for the Impreza. However you will have to ensure the mods are correct to the map upon which the chip is based, in my case it was TDO5 16g with full decat and induction kit on 440 injectors. I swapped the intercooler from TMIC to a front mount and had minor lag but assume it aided cooling.

Does not compare to having a live map but if you cant wait (and accept the risk) the polar performance chip is an option.

I take it your classic is pre MY96, MY97 and newer cannot run chips.

I ran a Polar Performance chip on my old scoob for years and it was fine. Just make sure you get the correct chip. There are different ones for td04 and td05 turbos.

There is nothing wrong with a chip as long as you get a proper one and not some dodgy foreign copy that could have anything on it.

Subaru's PPP is purely a generic map which is all these chips are. I believe some of these chips producers actually worked with Subaru / Prodrive to produce PPP.
