Default immobilisers chip in key

Changing my key to a new age one but need to figure out a way around the immobilisers, where do I need to place the chip to ensure the car starts

Ask your local auto electrician... chip needs to be in the car

Lol I know that much but where can I locate it, it needs to be a lot more precise than 'in the car'

Well it mean any key cut that will fit and turn in the ignition barrel will start the car. In effect youve now disabled your imobiliser. Its not ideal. To do it properly you need to get the new key chiped

It's fitted with the factory sigma alarm also which has an immobiliser, so you would also need the fob or the key code to start it...

So if you fit a sigma etc you would loose the chipped key advantage anyway?

No i also have the original sigma alarm. This stops the starter from activating and they can be wired around. The key chip is recognised by the cars ecu. If the ecu doesnt see the chip it wont activate the fuel pump. There two seperate systems. For your info the sigma is not factory fit. Its fitted once the car arrives in the uk. Whether thats by IM or the dealer network i dont know. No subaru im aware of has a factory fitted alarm.
